Golfers Fundraising drive brings joy to sick children

Generous golfers from the Vets Section of Bidston Golf Club in Wallasey have donated £450 to benefit children being treated at Arrowe Park Hospital. The donation to the hospital, which is managed by Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, will be used to help fund a paediatric cardiac scanner – a vital piece of equipment that assesses heart function in small babies and children and which helps to save lives.Brian Nottingham, who was President of Bidston Golf Club Vets 2008/09, presented the money to Sandra Shannon, the Trust’s Associate Director of Operations for Women and Children’s services. Brian said: “During my term as President, it was my responsibility to nominate the recipients for the proceeds of our charity collections. “We organised two charity golf days in the year and we hope that this small contribution will help to support the ongoing work of the hospital in providing the highest standard of healthcare services for children and young people.” Sandra added, “This generous donation will make a real difference to the babies and children who come into our hospital” “We are very grateful to Brian, his fellow golfers and to all those at Bidston Golf Club
